"Men plan.
Fate laughs."

-- From the writings of Gaius Quartus, First Lord of Alera

============================================

This is my first canvas painting for my school's art gallery. Gosh, it was messy and full of trial and errors for me. xD;;;

The theme was to pick a quote or lyric and paint a picture of what it's significance means to myself. The quote I pick was from Captain's Fury by Jim Butcher. I chose to draw Fade (from the same book) because he had a lot of shit happen to him. Haha, no kidding. Well, there's a deeper meaning, but I don't feel like explaining it. Other people who have read the books would probably know. :P

This is at Second Calderon, I believe. ;D

i really like the turmoil in the painting.
you captured Rari really well- the style fits his character- especially in how he seems to the rest of the Realm. (if that made any sense. need coffee.)

This is very impressionistic, and there is also a real sense of motion and tragedy. A WAY cool rendition of Fade.

I really like the shading on the cloak and the vagueness of Fade's (*coughrari'scough*) features.

Coward indeed. Tamora Pierce says in her book "Cold Fire", "I think it takes cowards more courage to be brave than brave people." or something along those lines.
